DeNova Sciences develops activities in France – Commercial Prospection Service

16 Jan 2019 – DeNova Sciences is a Singapore-based start-up providing a range of innovative artificial skin models as well as tissue scaffolding suitable for use in rigorous clinical testing.

The Business Support Department of the French Chamber Singapore helps Singaporean companies to grow their business in France. We first met DeNova Sciences in a B2B meeting at TechInnovation Singapore in 2016. We were looking for Singaporean startups interested in getting in touch with French companies through Cosmetic 360, a major tradeshow for cosmetic industry and innovation taking place in Paris every October. Once we presented the tradeshow, DeNova Sciences was convinced that participating in Cosmetic 360 in Paris, France would be a crucial step for their oversea business expansion. DeNova Sciences has had the opportunity to attend the Cosmetic 360 conference in both 2017 and 2018. This has been an exciting development for our company to showcase our services and products in such a prestigious international conference for the personal care industry. During the conferences both years, we were able to meet targeted customer groups working in formulation, active ingredient and service companies coming from large multinational companies and small & medium enterprise backgrounds. This has translated to valuable leads for our company that has since helped to increase revenue growth and drive the direction in which we structure our offerings to cater to the needs of the market. Having the opportunity to discuss and share technology and ideas with other European companies has also been eye opening and beneficial towards the R&D aspect of our company. Working together with our French distributor throughout the Cosmetic 360 and attending the 2018 Gala allowed for interaction with professionals from upstream all the way to downstream in our industry educated and immersed us in the working culture of a foreign country in order facilitate strong working relationships between clients and ourselves.

Attending the conference has opened doors to government institutes based in different regions of France whom are keen to bring foreign companies with relevant technology in. This has given us many options in terms of grants, strategic locations, and partners to choose for our projected subsidiary expansion into Europe. In addition, meeting with the Cosmetic 360 team in Chartres has given us a better understanding of the overall market and structure of the Personal Care industry in France. All in all, this has been an invaluable experience for both the attendees as well as DeNova Sciences as a whole.
