Site Visit of Smart Factory Yamazaki Mazak Solar Rooftop PV Plant, Cleantech Solar

12 Sep 2018 – On-site solar with its compelling economics and versatility is becoming the obvious choice of renewable energy for an increasing number of companies in Asia, who are taking the lead in fighting climate change and supporting the Paris Agreement.

In this Year of Climate Action in Singapore, members had the opportunity to visit an on-site solar in Singapore at the advanced Yamazaki Mazak factory fitted with a solar PV system that spans across an area of 10,450m2. This PV system is installed with 6120 solar panels and has generated more than 2.5 GWh of clean energy since its commissioning.

The Cleantech Solar team of PV experts gave us an overview of the key features of on-site solar including design, installation, monitoring and maintenance. In addition, the Yamazaki Mazak site presented a unique opportunity for the visitors to see solar PV fitted on metal roofs, carport and reinforced concrete roofs as well. Special word of thanks to Dr. André Nobre, Cleantech Solar Head of Operations & MaintenanceRaghav Malhotra, Head of Project Management, and Arnaud Ayral, Regional Business Development Director for the insights on this visit of the facility.
