Experience Sharing by An Ironman Triathlon Athlete and A Business Woman

22 Jun 2017 – Nathalie Leger, 46 years old, is a mother of three teenage girls. With an engineering degree and having completed an Executive MBA at INSEAD and Tsingua University, she has a successful international career in manufacturing, supply chain and logistic in the US, France, China, Thailand and Singapore and is currently heading the LVMH Regional Distribution Centre at Bolloré Logistics.

Without any sporting background (she learnt to swim at the age of 23 and started cycling only at 39), she embarked seven years ago on a Triathlon journey alongside her husband, reaching rapidly a competitive level, achieving several podium successes in her age group: 1st in Taiwan full Ironman 2014, 1st in half Ironman 70.3 Subic Bay (2016), 1st in half Ironman 70.3 Phuket (2016), 2nd in half Ironman 70.3 Korea (2015). She also qualified twice for half Ironman 70.3 world championship. Last year, she ranked 6th worldwide and 1st French women in her age group at the All World Athlete Ironman ranking.

At this Business Women committee meeting, Nathalie Leger shared with us about the challenges of combining family and professional lives while embracing a highly demanding sport at a competitive level. Nathalie also discussed the role of sport and especially triathlon to her, and shared concrete experiences and learning on topics such as work-life balance, daily routine, tips on how to begin, training, nutrition and more!

Her husband Christophe, also a seasoned triathlete, added to the discussion and brought the partner’s perspective!
