18 Nov 2016 – For more than 15 years, voyages-sncf.com has been the first e-commerce player in France. A real digital success story for this French company, even though it has not always been a smooth and easy way over all these years. From the “big crash” in 2008 to the rise of small agile or more international competitors, challenging environments often reminded the teams how important it was to re-invent themselves continuously to stay as a leader and conquer new markets.
Nguyen Trieu Khang worked from 2004 to 2016 at voyages-sncf.com at different IT positions, the last one as Software Assets Director. He shared with us the story of voyages-sncf.com from behind the scenes as he lived it, and especially how the company shifted dramatically these past few years towards a more modular architecture, towards an agile organization from business to tech ops and the interactions with SNCF to find the good balance between the flexibility of a medium company and the governance when dealing with a national group of 160,000 people.
